The Provincetown School Committee (PSC) is committed to the International Baccalaureate (IB) World Program and meeting its high standards of excellence. The IB World Program aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through their knowledge, intercultural understanding and respect. Provincetown Schools have the responsibility to equip students with their right to obtaining a free and appropriate public education. It is the responsibility of our School District to ensure we create a welcoming and educational community for ALL students.
The responsibilities of the PSC are:
- To define, monitor and evaluate the vision, mission, and educational goals of Provincetown Schools;
- To set and review district policies that enable the administration to support student achievement;
- To establish, approve and monitor the annual School budget that aligns with district goals and policies;
- To appoint and evaluate the Superintendent who is responsible for the administrative operations of the district.
