Should only art galleries be allowed to sell art in Provincetown?

Should only art galleries be allowed to sell art in Provincetown?

Any business that engages in the sale of art whether an art gallery, retail store, restaurant, etc. are encouraged to attend the October  22nd, Licensing Board meeting at 5:15 p.m (Please note that due to concern over the scheduling conflict, this workshop has been moved from the previously scheduled Tuesday, October 8th meeting). At that meeting there will be a policy and regulation workshop where the Licensing Board members, members of the business community, artist community, and general public will discuss how art sales are handled in Provincetown. The board will be discussing all forms of art sales whether the business "participates" in the sale or whether the proceeds of the sale go directly to the artist.

Additionally, the Licensing Board is looking to reach out to artists who may be affected by any possible changes to the regulations who would like to be heard on this topic. The Board would like to hear from anyone who would like a voice in this workshop.

The goal of this process is to provide the Licensing Board with enough input from the community on whether or not the sale of art within Town may need to be better regulated.

If you would like to have your voice heard but are unable to attend on October 22nd, or if you would like to have the board receive your correspondence in writing prior to the meeting, please email the Licensing Agent by 12pm on Friday, October 18th.
