Provincetown Fire Department

A Volunteer Fire Department. The Provincetown Fire Department provides excellent fire and rescue protection to the citizens of Provincetown. We are responsible for all phases of Fire Prevention, Fire Protection and EMS Services. This is accomplished through an all-volunteer department. We are one of the only two volunteer departments left on Cape Cod. This department saves the taxpayers of Provincetown an astronomical amount of money due to the enthusiastic efforts of our volunteers. Our goal is to provide our volunteers with the best equipment possible to allow them to do their job safely. We also want to remain as a volunteer department as long as possible and continue to provide the citizens of Provincetown with the best possible fire and rescue protection.

Provincetown Remembers September 11th

New Carbon Monoxide Law, Known as Nicole’s Law, Implemented: The regulation, 527 CMR 31.00, was effective on an emergency basis as of 9-8-06. It was filed principally to supplement the existing CO regulation filed earlier this year which applied to most residences. This regulation establishes requirements for the second phase of the CO law impacting most R-1 (hotels) and I-1 through I-3 (Institutional) establishments. These regulations require most of these types of buildings to be equipped with hard-wired or more technical CO alarm protection methods. In accordancewith the statute, the regulation requires the completion of such installation by 1-1-07. Read additional information. See Owner's Notice of Intent Sample Form.

Important Reminder: Please make sure your house is numbered. You should have clearly marked numbers that are well lit at night. This helps both police and fire crews find your house quickly in an emergency. DONT WAIT. Many times, seconds make a difference!
