Provincetown Town Hall Renovations – Asbestos Abatement

The Town of Provincetown (Town) is embarking on Phase 2 of the historic renovation of Town Hall.  Town Hall, built in the 1880’s is in the final stages of a complete exterior renovation. In preparation for the next phase of work, the Town seeks proposals for the abatement of asbestos at the ground and first floors.  It is the Town’s opinion the value of this work is not more than $25,000.

To the best of our knowledge, the materials to be abated are 2’x4’ ceiling tiles and vinyl asbestos floor tile.  The application method of the floor tile varies throughout the building.

Scope of Work: Includes taking up to 20 material samples; pre-abatement air sampling and testing; pre-job meeting to review abatement plan; project site and any changes to scope of work; air monitoring and sample testing during construction to insure that abatement is conducted within compliance of all federal and state regulations; clearance air sampling prior to re-occupation; final report summarizing all material and air testing results; and disposal of all hazardous waste at licensed hazardous waste disposal sites and disposal of incidental nonhazardous materials at appropriate disposal site.

Proposers must be state licensed asbestos abatement contractors.
