Community Resource Assistance Program
Mission Statement:
The mission and goal of the Community Resource Assistance Program is to provide services to the elderly in our community at a lower cost than is available through private agencies while at the same time offering seniors an alternative resource for chore needs. The Council on Aging will serve as the link between seniors and Provincetown residents who will provide these needed services.

Examples of services* to be provided are: transportation and escort to medical appointments, companionship at home; home health care; in-home chores (cleaning, cooking, packing, yard work, pet care, haircuts, shaves, etc.); gardening and outdoor chores; snow removal and errands.

*Not all services are available at all times. Availability is bases on the availability of communtiy workers.

Goals:
The Council on Aging will assist in this job match free of charge as a service to our seniors and will also provide job opportunities to members of our community.

The COA Director will accept applications for this program and will conduct personal interviews. A written application, two or three personal references and a residency reference will be requested. A CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) check will be conducted on all applicants. A verbal commitment will also be requested of the Community Service Provider that he or she will charge a sliding scale fee for service ranging between $8.00and $15.00 per hour, depending on the difficulty of the task and the elder's ability to pay.

Advertising:
This program is advertised using local newspapers, notices sent to local churches and other organizations, through the COA Outreach Department, and the COA monthly newsletter.
