The Commission began meeting in mid-May 2016. Meetings have been recorded for viewing on
Provincetown TV (local access). The Commission held an initial Public Hearing on June 15, 2016,
and a final Public Hearing on September 26, 2017, as required by the law, and held several additional
Public Forums. The Commission met with members of the Board of Selectmen, the Town Manager
and Administrative Staff, the Moderator and the Finance Committee, and other Town Boards, and also
reviewed other Towns' Charters. The changes we have made do not represent any significant change
to the form of government as represented in the existing Charter. We have focused on making the
organization more logical, combining related chapters, and simplifying the language.
