The Provincetown Health Department develops, implements, enforces, and administers all activities that protect the public health and the legal liability of the town by complying with activities mandated by local, state and federal rules and regulations.

Specifically: Subsurface and Public Sewage Disposal; Food Service; Housing; Lead Paint Determinations; Animal Inspector; Beach Water Quality; Communicable Disease Control; Solid Waste and Recycling; Hazardous & Infectious Waste; Permitting & Licensing; Massage; Body Piercing/Tattooing; Pools/Hot Tubs; Burial Permits; Administration of Board of Health. The Health Department staff participates in permit review meetings, Code Compliance enforcement and enforcement of State and local health regulations.
