BUS AND TROLLEY ROUTES EXTEND HOURS BEGINNING JUNE 23RD

The Cape Cod RTA will add seasonal public transportation in Yarmouth Saturday, June 23, and increase the frequency of its other bus and trolley routes through Labor Day.

Passengers may flag down buses and trolleys at any safe location (except along Rte. 6) or wait at bus stops.

Flex Bus

The popular Flex bus will begin running every 45 minutes, seven days a week, between Star Market in Harwich and MacMillan Pier in Provincetown, serving destinations along the way in Brewster, Orleans, Eastham, Wellfleet and Truro. The first bus will leave at 6 a.m.; the last bus of the day will depart at 8:15 p.m.

In response to passenger requests, a “late bus” will leave Provincetown Fridays and Saturdays at 9:15 p.m. for its end point at Cranberry Plaza (Stop & Shop) in Orleans.

Flex now goes non-stop via Route 6 between North Truro and Provincetown. There is a connection to the Provincetown-North Truro Shuttle at Highland Road and the Rte. 6 overpass for service along Shore Road and Bradford Street.

Passengers may reserve off-route travel to destinations within three quarters of the main route, by calling RTA Customer Service at 800 352-7155 at least two hours ahead.

Provincetown-North Truro Shuttle

The Shuttle will run at least every half hour between North Truro and MacMillan Pier in Provincetown, serving Herring Cove Beach and the Seashore’s Province Lands Visitor Center. Passengers who want to go to or from Provincetown Municipal Airport will have to reserve a ride ahead of time by calling RTA Customer Service.

Dollar Fares Continue

Fares will remain at a dollar per ride, 50 cents for seniors and people with disabilities. Exact change is required. Frequent rider passes are available from bus drivers. Passes and discount tokens also are available at the Hyannis Transportation Center, the Falmouth Chamber of Commerce and at the Bay State Cruise Co. office in Provincetown.

The RTA’s complete Rider’s Guide will be available in tabloid format and online at www.TheBreeze.info. Route maps and pocket schedules will be available free at most public locations and literature racks.
