In celebration of the 275th anniversary of the Town of Provincetown's incorporation on June 14, 1727

Bas Relief Rededication To commemorate Provincetown's 275th Birthday and to celebrate its recent beautification-- the Town rededicated the Bas Relief across from Town Hall.

The Bas Relief was constructed in the 1920s to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the signing of the Mayflower Compact in Provincetown Harbor on November 11,1620, O.S.
The Outer Cape Choral, led by John Arterton, sang "A Trip to Provincetown."
Chairman of the Board of Selectmen, Mary-Jo Avellar read the proclamation rededicating the Bas Relief.
Selectman Richard Olson read the Mayflower Compact.
5 to 7 p.m. Book signing at the Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum: Kathy Shorr: Provincetown: Stories from Land's End; Charles Field: Provincetown and the National Seashore: A Photographic Essay
8 to 10 p.m. George McNeil: Bathers, Dancers, Abstracts - A themed Retrospective at the Provincetown Art Association & Museum
 

Saturday, June 15, 2002
10 a.m. to Noon "Walk & Talk Provincetown" Themed historical talks and walks of Provincetown. Begins at the Pilgrim Monument.
1 p.m. "Provincetown As A Stage" A slide-illustrated talk with Leona Egan. Held at the Pilgrim Monument.
2 to 3:30 p.m. A Literary Stroll, hosted by Richard Olson. Meet at the Pilgrim Monument.
4 to 5 p.m. Art Gallery Tour, hosted by James Bakker. Meet at the Pilgrim Monument

2 to 5:30 p.m.
The Big "Happy Birthday Provincetown" Party with remarks by the Board of Selectmen, Town Manager, and presentation of certifications and proclamations.

Town Manager Keith A. Bergman delivered welcoming remarks.

Church bells/Town Hall chimes together in honor of birthday.
