Thank you, Madam Moderator. Roslyn Garfield retires after 18 years as Provincetown's Town Moderator. The April 7, 2003 Town Meeting paid tribute to retiring Town Moderator, Roslyn Garfield, when Chairman of the Board of Selectmen Mary-Jo Avellar presented a bronze plaque in Roslyn Garfield's honor, to be placed beneath the Moderator's podium in Town Hall Auditorium. The plaque reads:

The Stakeholders paid special tribute on Thursday, June 26, 2003, which the Board of Selectmen declared as "Madam Moderator Roslyn Garfield Day" in the Town of Provincetown.

FY 2004 Operating Budget Request

On January 29, 2003, the Board of Selectmen approved a $20-million general fund spending plan for the Town of Provincetown's Fiscal Year 2004 operating budget, as recommended by the Town Manager. The Board of Selectmen and the Finance Committee conduct a joint public hearing on the budget on Monday, March 17, 2003. The Board of Selectmen and the Finance Committee are in agreement on all budget requests. Town Meeting adopted the budgets as presented.
