Gift Funds/Donate
Current Gift Funds Operated by the Town of Provincetown, pursuant to Massachusetts General Law (MGL) Chapter 44 Section 53A or other enabling authority:

- Town Scholarship Fund - These funds allow the Scholarship and Trust Committee to issue college scholarships to students. For more information or to complete an application, please visit the Scholarship and Trust Administration Committee page.
- Library Gift Fund – Established February 5, 1981. Funds used to assist with the debt incurred by the restoration of the Provincetown Public Library building, as well as other library-related uses.
- Town Hall Piano Gift Fund – Established May 22, 2006. Funds used to maintain, make repairs to, and/or replace the piano in the Town Hall Auditorium.
- Beautification Gift Fund – Established 2009. Funds used to assist the Provincetown Public Landscape Committee with keeping Provincetown beautiful.
- Town Hall Improvement Gift Fund – Established May 11, 2009. Funds used to maintain and make repairs to the Provincetown Town Hall.
- Recreation Gift Fund – Established February 5, 1981. Funds used to assist the Recreation Department with providing a variety of activities and services.
- Holiday Celebration Gift Fund – Established in 2005, and includes the previously held "Fireworks Gift Fund." Funds used to offset the costs associated with fireworks displays and other related events.
- Provincetown AIDS Memorial Gift Fund – Established in 2013 by the Board of Selectmen in conjunction with the Provincetown Cultural Council. Funds were previously used for the design, construction, and installation of the AIDS Memorial on the grounds of the Provincetown Town Hall, which is now complete. Funds remain available for the continued benefit of the AIDS Memorial.
- Cemetery Gift Fund – Established May 29, 2012. Funds are used by the Cemetery Commission to carry out their mission to preserve and improve the Provincetown public cemeteries.
- Rose Dorothea Gift Fund – Established February 27, 2017. The gift fund allows the Historical Commission to use public donations to carry out maintenance and care of the Rose Dorothea monuments.
- Marriage Defense Gift Fund – Established May 17, 2004. Original funding by Finance Committee reserve fund transfer. This fund allows fund to be expended for legal expenditures to defend same sex marriages.
- Council on Aging (COA) Gift Fund – Established December 11, 2017. This fund allows the COA to use public donations to support various COA programs and services for the Town.
- Town Hall Auditorium Chairs Gift Fund – Currently under operation, these funds are intended to be used for the restoration and improvement of the Town Hall Auditorium chairs.
- Disability Commission Gift Fund – Managed by the Disability Commission, these funds can be used for improvements or services related to ADA compliance and other uses to make Provincetown more accessible for everyone.
- Recycling and Renewable Energy Gift Fund – Managed by the Recycling and Renewable Energy Committee, these funds can be used to make Provincetown a cleaner and more energy-efficient Town.
- Suzanne’s Garden Gift Fund – These funds are used for the improvement, maintenance, and other benefits to Suzanne’s Garden.
- Historical Commission Gift Fund – Managed by the Historical Commission, these funds are used for maintaining and ensuring the continued existence of the historic nature of many aspects of the Town.
- Historic Preservation Gift Fund – Managed by the Historical Commission, these funds are used for preserving Provincetown’s history, such as the preservation and restoration of historic artifacts and art.
- Bicycle Safety Gift Fund - Managed by the Bicycle Committee, these funds are used for promoting bicycle safety in Town.
- Trees for Conservation Land - Established January 12, 2015. These funds are to be used for the planting of Native trees in Conservation areas.
- Covid-19 Gift Fund - Established April 3, 2020. These funds are to be used for the purpose of addressing COVID-19 community impacts and related expenditures.
- Affordable Housing Trust Fund: Established through Chapter 230 Acts of 2002 and amended c. 83 Acts 2008 for the purpose of creating and preserving affordable housing rental and ownership up to 100% Area Median Income; managed by the Community Housing Council.
- Year Round Market Rate Rental Housing Trust Fund: Established through Chapter 305 Acts of 2016 for the purpose of creating and preserving year-round rental housing, including market rate up to 200% Area Median Income; managed by the Year Round Market Rate Rental Housing Trust Board of Trustees.
