How do we create a dialogue designed to
build consensus for how to solve important
Town issues?
What are the Goals of Civic Engagement?
• Increased public engagement and participation for the
important decisions that are made by Town Meeting.
• Greater success in explaining proposed solutions to
address our complex challenges. These involve
extended public policy decisions that require more
thought and understanding of the problems and the
options to address them.
• Increased public awareness and involvement
throughout the year, so as to build consensus for the
best ways to meet the management and financing
challenges of Town government.
