[ARCHIVED] Upcoming Landscape Improvements at Bas Relief and Park

Small Tree (PDF)

The long-awaited Phase 2 approved Bas Relief and Park Restoration work will re-commence on site. The restoration of the Cyrus Dallin tablet and surrounding structure is essentially complete (Phase 1) and looks magnificent!

All of the landscape improvements have been approved by the Select Board, Tree Advisory Group, Tree Warden, and Conservation Commission.

The landscaping improvements include new plants and trees, relocating some, and will include the removal of several old and decaying trees and shrubs, the use of a tree chipper, removal of the existing grassed area, and realignment of the existing sidewalk. Other site improvements include new benches, trash cans, and bicycle racks.

Please see the following site plans which can demonstrate the work to be done:

-The Site Preparation Plan, which details the removal of several trees and transplanting of existing shrubs.

-The Planting Plan, which includes details on the new plantings and realigned sidewalk.

-The Construction Plan Set, which includes all of the work for the site.
